Gasland Refugees

Governments around the world see the exploitation and development of unconventional gas as a ‘quick fix’ to their cash and energy problems.

But at what cost?

The story is the same whether it be Garfield County, Colorado, Dimock, PA or Tara, Queensland in north-eastern Australia. Degradation of water, land and air for a short term fix of around 25 years.

What of those who live in or near the gas fields? Those in the country who had no idea their homes and farms were located in soon-to-be industrialised gas zones. Those who are sick and in pain from their daily dose of toxins.

Their choice is stark. They can stay and suffer, or sell their homes for a pittance to opportunist leeches, or just abandon their properties.

They are Gasland refugees!
